Home Remedies For Your Dog- Healing Foods

by Dr. Deva Khalsa on July 7, 2012

Food is a wonderful way to nourish and heal every single day.  Some common food ingredients such as parsley and cranberries provide healthy phytonutrients in addition to plain old nutrition. One fun and easy way to prepare a meal or a snack for your dog is with Meals in a Muffin. It’s all in my book, Dr. Khalsa’s Natural Dog which has lots of fun and healthy recipes.

Meals in a Muffin is a wonderful way to prepare and store a meal, particularly for a small breed dog.  Or you may choose to use mini muffin tins and use these recipes for mini-muffin snacks.

Dogs are pack animals and like to eat when we eat and so some of these recipes are wonderful for breakfast and some for dinner.  Make a few bakers dozen and freeze and store, defrosting on schedule for the next meal. I give my dogs a large breakfast and they each get one of two muffins for a snack at dinner.   Use a tiny muffin tin to make snacks for larger dogs and a regular muffin tin to make an entire meal for a smaller dog.   Muffins can be made into loafs or loafs into muffins.

* Remember to give your dog a complete and balanced preventive supplement every single day.
